So as to arouse students’ interest in chemistry learning, enhance students’ abilities in applying the knowledge from textbooks to life and enrich their extracurricular life, during the morning reading classes from 4th to 5th January, 2017, the Chemistry Department from Anqing Foreign Language School’s Junior High Division in the west campus held the 1st Session Odorless Water Purification Competition.
To be specific, students divided into 24 groups from Grade 9 participated in the contest. Each group had three minutes to perform their tasks. Furthermore, teachers graded students’ performance in three aspects in terms of clarity, water purification speed in addition to aesthetic degree with the full mark 60 points.
Overall, by means of this fantastic event, Anqing Foreign Language School strengthened students’ awareness in conserving water resources, tested their innovative practical ability as well as boosted students’ capability in oral expression. In the meantime, the contest cultivated and enhanced students’ consciousness and abilities in group collaboration, which laid a favorable foundation for students’ future learning and life.

Finally, the Best Innovation Award was obtained by Wang Min’ao from Class 1, Grade 9 while the Best Effects Award went to Su Yi from Class 1, Grade 9. Fang Yuan and Su Mingyu shared the Best Design Award.
